Our first AEE meeting of the new year will be about new Lighting Codes and our speaker is Carl Watson. Energy Codes are beginning to play a much more significant role in shaping the lighting design process both locally and throughout the United States. Electrical and Lighting provisions Standard 90.1 – 2001 will be reviewed with its impact on new construction as well as renovation of and additions to existing non-residential buildings. Three case studies will be reviewed.

Emphasis will be given to how Standard 90.1 integrates into the fabric of the international Building Code (IBC) regulations. An overview will be presented on the future direction of energy and environmental codes as well as other related topics including the LEED program of the U.S. Green Buildings Council. LEED uses compliance with Standard 90.1 as the minimum baseline for its energy requirements

A receipt will be given at the door!
